I was raised in a Christian family, even though I had not known Jesus at a personal level. I would go to church as just a routine. It was back in 2001 during a church service when the preacher talked about the assurance of salvation that I realized that it was not only enough to be a good person and go to church but that I needed to have a personal relationship with God. It was at that point that I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior over my life.
Since I was in primary school, it has been my dream to be a health worker to serve God. This came true when I joined medical school, but I continue to dream about how the Lord will use me in healthcare.
I would like to work in rural parts of Kenya or in the slums because I was raised in rural Kenya. I realize that most of the people in rural areas do not have the chance to receive medical care from qualified health workers or doctors, except for when their condition has worsened beyond help. Some had lost their lives because they were not able to get quality healthcare. I believe that, as I will be serving them, I will get the opportunity to share with them my faith in Jesus Christ. By doing so, I will be spreading the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ with them.
