I am a general surgeon at Tenwek Hospital in rural Kenya. By providing healthcare in a compassionate, loving way, I am able to show love of Jesus and share the Gospel. When people need surgical care, they are scared, vulnerable and looking for comfort and answers. Whether before an operation, in a time of crisis in an emergent situation, or when faced with a very difficult diagnosis or prognosis, I am able to share with patients the comfort and blessing of the love of Jesus. In addition, as an assistant program director of the surgical residency training program at Tenwek, I am able to mentor and disciple young surgeons to couple their faith with their surgical practice. This then multiplies the Gospel as they go out from Tenwek to serve in other places.
