ICMDA Offers COVID-19 Preparedness Training

The International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA) has partnered with the Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore, India to provide COVID-19 preparedness training.
The organizations have collaborated to provide a Training of Trainers (ToT) course. Master Trainers in church and mission hospitals in Africa and Asia can take the course online. A new ToT course is offered every two weeks.
The program consists of nine self-learning modules plus two Zoom classes with CMC faculty. Before moving to the next module, students must pass a quiz showing mastery of the material. Upon completion of the course, they must pass a final exam. Once certified, they can begin training others in their network with the same materials.
The critical care course includes training on diagnosing COVID-19, managing quarantine and isolation protocols, prevention and infection control, and critical care for patients in respiratory and cardiovascular distress.
The training is provided at no cost. Hospitals can nominate a Master Trainer by completing a survey on their current levels of COVID-19 resources and training.
Healthcare remains the only form of access as a Christian witness in many countries.
