MedSend recently welcomed two senior staff members to the ministry’s team.

“As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, I’m pleased to announce the strategic hiring of Dr. Perry Jansen and Morgan Boardman, seasoned professionals who will help shape the future success of this ministry,” said MedSend President & CEO Rick Allen. Dr. Jansen has been named Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Boardman is Chief Development Officer.

Dr. Jansen is a former MedSend grant recipient who served for 16 years in Malawi, where he founded Partners in Hope (PIH), which now cares for more than 7,000 HIV patients, providing education, prevention, and clinical and home-based care.

“In building PIH, Perry worked with government and international organizations and academic institutions,” Allen noted. “He is well prepared to manage relationships with our 55 U.S.-based missions sending agencies and to grow our international base of partners. In addition, Perry will manage our strong and growing relationships with the Christian Medical and Dental Associations (CMDA) and with Christ-centered colleges and universities that prepare healthcare professionals to serve internationally.”

Boardman is a Certified Fundraising executive (CFRE) who brings over 30 years of business and ministry experience to the MedSend team. “Morgan has held both operational management and consultancy roles for not-for-profits and churches,” Allen said. “His knowledge of the development process and organizational alignment will benefit the entire MedSend organization. As we embark on our next phase of ministry and growth I believe Morgan and Perry will help lead us towards God’s intended purpose.”

Both men are excited about working with MedSend.

“After 16 years working as a missionary physician, it’s clear that the soundest strategy in healthcare missions is to invest in building up national leaders and healthy institutions that model excellence as they demonstrate Christ’s love in word and deed,” Dr. Jansen said. “I’m excited to use my experience, energy and networks to further strengthen the strategy of MedSend as we invest in building healthier nations that bring glory to God.”

Boardman is also inspired by MedSend’s mission.

“In His ministry on earth, Jesus met the physical needs of people through healing and then shared with them the good news of God’s love,” he said. “I’m excited to be part of the MedSend team where we continue to extend God’s love through the ministry of global healthcare.”
