MedSend Welcomes Steve Cummings and Gary Lukovich in Development Expansion

MedSend is pleased to announce the expansion of its development team with two new key hires: Steve Cummings and Gary Lukovich. Both Steve and Gary join MedSend in the role of vice president of development.

 

Steve Cummings brings over 30 years of Christian ministry experience to MedSend. Born and raised in Southern California, Steve has spent much of his career in marketing and development roles. Most recently Steve served as Chief Development Officer at Denison Ministries. He began his development career as a Major Gifts Officer with Prison Fellowship after serving as Chuck Colson’s radio producer for BreakPoint for 11 years. He has also held leadership roles at Multnomah University and HopeQuest Ministry Group. He also holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from California State University Fullerton and a Masters of Divinity from Denver Seminary. Steve lives in Suwanee, Georgia with his wife Julia. They have four married children and two grandchildren.

 

Gary Lukovich joins MedSend after serving in leadership roles in both business and non-profit organizations for almost forty years. Most recently he formed Christian Matthew and Associates, after retiring early from his corporate vice president role at State Farm Insurance. Gary has held many civic servant roles, including “Delegate to the White House Conference on Youth” (President Nixon). He has received numerous awards and has served on the Lay Ministries and Standing Committee, Local Diocese, Episcopal Church for four decades.Originally from Port Huron, Michigan, Gary earned a degree in Accounting/Business from Wayne State University, and holds certificates from  many additional programs in the business and coaching fields. Gary and his wife Susan have three children and four grandchildren.

MedSend is a high impact ministry dedicated to empowering Christian healthcare professionals to serve long-term in areas of deep physical and spiritual need. MedSend does this through three programs: MedSend to the World, the National Scholars, and the Longevity Project.

 

MedSend to the World provides grants to U.S.-educated healthcare personnel. The National Scholars program provides scholarships to Christian national medical professionals seeking advanced and specialized training in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. MedSend National Scholars are becoming the leaders of mission hospitals and residency programs in their regions. The Longevity Project provides mental, emotional, and spiritual support to healthcare missionaries. Over a million people in 97 countries receive care each year in difficult places from MedSend supported healthcare workers.

    I have met these two godly men who are passionate about Kingdom work. They will be wonderful additions to this ministry as we collectively strive to further His work done His way. What a privilege it will to learn from these Christian men.
