MedSend Will Exhibit at Virtual 2020 GMHC

Students at Hope Africa

MedSend will participate in the 2020 Global Missions Health Conference ( GMHC 2020), being held virtually on November 13-14. The conference marks its 25th anniversary this year.

The GMHC exists to help mobilize people into healthcare missions. The two-day event will include a virtual exhibit hall, plenery sessions, and breakout sessions. Conference attendees will receive additional planning resources to help determine next steps.

To assist students and healthcare workers in navigating the virtual environment, the conference team will provide a number of personalized suggestions. Based on individual needs, the team will provide recommendations for getting the most out of the event.

MedSend Speakers

Randy Carey of MedSend will be speaking at the event, along with Dr. Doug Lindberg, a former MedSend grant recipient. The two will be teaching on the topic of debt.

Carey’s goal is to be able to provide encouragement to those who want to serve but are burdened by student loan debt. “You may be among the many healthcare professionals who must borrow significant amounts of money in order to complete your studies,” he says. “Left unchecked, that debt can influence or even control your career decisions instead of God….We want to encourage you to remain as debt-free as possible so you can serve God unencumbered.”

He and Dr. Lindberg will give an overview of MedSend’s grant program, which assumes the burden of student loan payments while grant recipients are on the mission field.

Rev. Doug Christgau, Global Healthcare Missions Ambassador at MedSend, will be on hand in the Virtual Exhibit Hall to answer questions from attendees. He said that he looks forward to the event each year.

“The GMHC brings 2000 students together who are preparing for careers in health care.” he says.  “Most are committed Christians, and it’s inspiring to speak with them about their hopes and dreams for the future.”

“MedSend has a special place at the GMHC because we’re the only organization there to give money away,” he continues. “Many students have not realized until they see our booth that there’s a means to address their educational debt if God were to continue to draw them to health care missions.  Seeing the looks on their faces is priceless.”
