Paul Opare-Addo, MD, MPH

Paul first developed a passion for healthcare as a young boy growing up outside of Accra, Ghana.  He left Ghana to attend university and medical school in the U.S.   After completing his family medicine residency at the Ventura County Medical Center, he pioneered their Global Health Fellowship.  Together with his wife and three children, they spent time at hospitals in Chad, Ethiopia and Liberia.  For the past two-and-a-half years, they have served with Samaritan’s Purse at P.C.E.A. Chogoria Hospital, Kenya in the Post-Residency Fellowship Program, investing in the hospital, the family medicine residency, clinician education, and connecting with the robust chaplaincy program.  Paul has a passion for seeing the next generation of nationals raised up and serving their communities in a leadership capacity, both medically and spiritually.  At the core of his value for excellence in evidence-based medicine is a deep conviction of the inseparability of the physical and the spiritual in the care of patients.
