He is Risen

He is risen…He is risen indeed.
I have always loved Easter. The renewal of God’s earth around Easter time, through the appearance of flowers and the return of leaves on the trees, has always been a clear reminder of the renewal available to our hearts and minds. As Christ comes back to life so too does God’s creation.
These days it is hard to find hope, peace, and joy. But for Christ-followers all over this world, Easter Sunday is our source for all that is required to live a life of hope. No matter the condition of the earth we know that a day of renewal and rebirth is coming.
Before Jesus went to the cross, He promised that He would not leave His disciples abandoned and alone. He promised a comforter and counselor would be sent in His place. That is the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit helps to guide and shape our lives, we see in us what is called the Fruits of the Spirit.
They are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
This Easter season, when we are locked down in our homes, would you please consider these qualities and how they are reflected in your life and the life of your family? After all, Jesus died… He has risen from the dead and ascended to the right hand of God… for you.
He sent the Holy Spirit for you…for all times… but especially for times like these.
I pray a prayer of blessing and good health on you and all those you love.
Happy Easter!
