CALL TO MISSIONS

I have grown to profoundly understand that medicine is my calling.

Growing up, I wanted to pursue soccer on a professional level; however, that did not remain the case for very long. I remember one afternoon when I was watching soccer with my mother and I mentioned in passing that you shall one day see me playing as well, she barely responded. As a matter of fact, she made a sound of disapproval to the idea.

Some time went by and as per custom, I joined mum and her friend on their morning prayers – it is at the end of the prayer session that mum asked me what my ambition was. I passively responded saying, “I want to be a doctor." They both told me how God shall grant me my heart’s desires; we then prayed about it.

It is since then, when I was 13 years old, that the passion and desire of being a medical doctor grew till it became a reality.

Where would you like to work?

Upon graduation from PAACS, it is my desire to return to Zimbabwe (or another African country where God might call me as a surgeon). It is my desire to become active in the community where I serve as a surgeon. It will also be my desire to not only find a church to worship, but also connect the church leadership, families, and community to my work there. This will give me the opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with this community.

I would want to continue serving God working as a surgeon. I want to give back the knowledge I would have acquired for the benefit of society, especially to those communities that are underserved or rather, that most doctors shun. These can either be in Zimbabwe or any other African country. I want to impact people’s lives in a great positive manner, notably as a surgeon – all to the glory of God.
