Carlan Wendler, MD

Carlan Wendler is a sinner saved by grace and privileged to be husband to Michelle and father to Gabrielle (2) and Isaiah (<1). Carlan grew up outside of Los Angeles and attended UC San Diego where he majored in Molecular Biology and History. He then went on to medical school at the University of Michigan before returning to Los Angeles to work at the LA County + USC Medical Center as a resident in the emergency room. The Wendlers  are currently sent by Grace Community Church through Serge to serve in Burundi (east-central Africa) as part of a team training African nationals to take the gospel and health care into the remotest jungles of the continent. There Carlan is the Service Chief for Emergency Medicine at Kibuye Hope Hospital and Professor of Emergency Medicine at Hope Africa University.
