“My graduates and our students that we’re investing in might become our supervisors, but we all just believe that this is what makes God smile and [He] is applauding the work that’s going on in Kenya.” —Dr. Stephanie Onguka

Dr. Faith Lelei, a MedSend National Scholar from Kenya who trained under grant recipient Dr. Stephanie Onguka at AIC Kijabe Hospital, is about to become one of a handful of National Scholars to usher in a new era in our National Scholars program. The student, it seems, is about to become the teacher– supervisor, to be more specific! After she graduated from the Family Medicine Residency, Dr. Lelei was hired by Kijabe as their Director of Quality Improvement and spearheaded their Covid Response team efforts. Her success has led to her promotion to Director of Clinical Services, where she will become Dr. Onguka’s boss this fall.

Watch as Dr. Onguka shares in her own words about her special connection with Dr. Lelei and tells us more about this exciting development.

On behalf of Dr. Onguka and Dr. Lelei, we would like to thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and financial support through MedSend. YOU have made it possible for Dr. Onguka and her residents in Kenya to ENGAGE their patients’ physical lives and invite them to a new life in Christ for the first time. Please consider continuing to support MedSend by donating today!
