“The results have been outstanding. The responses of gratitude we received from participants exceeded our expectations. We’ve learned lessons and are building on this experience—we plan to double the number of participants in the coming year!” – Rick Allen, MedSend CEO

June 30 marked the finish line for our first official year with The Longevity Project, a ministry of MedSend designed to protect the professional, relational, and spiritual health of our Grant Recipients and ensure their resilience while serving. It’s an innovative way of caring for cross-cultural healthcare workers designed to provide an opportunity for self-directed care. We give the participants a financial grant subsidized by donors, which they apply confidentially to trusted partner organizations. These are important, meaningful, impactful solutions for healthcare workers that not only supports the welfare of the family, but works to ensure they can continue in their service on the mission field, saving lives and introducing their patients to Jesus

At the close of year one, we are celebrating:

  •  31 households (113 people) participated
  •  25 countries represented
  • 17 mission sending agencies represented
  • 11 Fly in a Friend or Family tickets purchased
  • 10 Sandcastle Getaways with Spiritual Direction sessions
  • 239 Counseling hours received
  • 98 hours of Spiritual Direction with Barnabas International

We look forward to another successful year as we DOUBLE the number of grants extended to 60 participating households!
