Supporting Healthcare Missions Through The Longevity Project

In the remote highlands of Papua New Guinea, healthcare is a rare and precious resource. With only one doctor for every 20,000 people, and even fewer in the highlands, the challenges faced by medical professionals are immense. Yet, despite these overwhelming odds, dedicated healthcare missionaries like Dr. Matthew Woodley are making a profound impact on the lives of thousands.

Dr. Woodley, along with his wife and two children, has worked at Kudjip Hospital, a small but incredibly busy hospital that serves the province of Jiwaka, for four years. The hospital is a beacon of hope, providing critical medical care and spiritual support deeply needed in a region plagued by violence and limited resources.

Why Supporting Healthcare Missions is Essential for Vulnerable Communities

The Longevity Project provided the Woodley family with access to spiritual directors, support for attending debriefing retreats, and ongoing counseling services. These resources have been instrumental in helping them recover and regain their strength to continue their vital work in Papua New Guinea.

“This was really such a blessing and encouragement, really from the Lord,” Dr. Woodley says. “The Longevity Project has been such a blessing in my life and our whole family’s lives.”

At MedSend, we believe that supporting healthcare missionaries like Dr. Woodley is essential. These brave men and women are often the only source of medical care for entire communities, and their work is life-saving. But to continue their mission, they need our support.
