Healthcare missionaries often serve in some of the most physically, emotionally, and spiritually demanding environments on earth. For many, the burden of sacrifice is constant—long hours, limited resources, isolation, trauma, and spiritual fatigue can take their toll over time.

That’s why we created The Longevity Project—a groundbreaking initiative designed to help medical missionaries not just survive, but thrive.
From Pilot to Impact: A Vision Realized
The Longevity Project officially launched in 2023, but as CEO Rick Allen explains, “It has been a ten-year journey.” The concept matured through years of listening to the real needs of those serving on the field, consulting with mental health and member care experts, and piloting support strategies in small cohorts.
In its first year, the program supported 30 missionary households—impacting 116 individuals with holistic, flexible care. Based on that success, Year 2 expanded the program to 60 households and more than 230 individuals.
This year, MedSend is testing systems, learning spending patterns, and preparing for even greater expansion, sustaining more healthcare missionaries for longevity on the field. Our official enrollment for Year 3 increases capacity again by over 50% to 93 families representing 347 individuals serving around the world.

What Makes The Longevity Project Different

Looking Ahead: Year 3 and Beyond
With Year 3 officially underway, MedSend is well-positioned to keep refining and improving the program to meet the needs of our increasing participation numbers, sustaining healthcare missionaries on the field.
