RICK ALLEN RELEASES NEW BOOK Surrendered Heart: How God’s Calling Shapes Relationships — A Bold Look at the Hidden Challenges of Global Healthcare Missions
FORT MILL, SC — On January 13, 2026, author and MedSend CEO Rick Allen will release his newest book, Surrendered Heart: How God’s Calling Shapes Relationships, a powerful collection of missionary stories that examine the complex interplay between medical service, faith, and the deep relational pressures faced by global healthcare workers.
Drawing from decades of frontline experience, Allen sheds light on what it means to answer God’s call in low-resource mission environments where the line of patients never ends, resources are scarce, and emotional and spiritual challenges can strain even the strongest relationships. In his own words, the book “is designed to bring forward the demands on the relationships of those called to global healthcare missions.”
Surrendered Heart offers an insider view of the emotional cost of cross-cultural medicine, the toll on families, and the resilience required to stay faithful in deep suffering. Allen hopes the stories will help prospective missionaries prepare, help current workers understand they aren’t alone, and help donors and supporters gain realistic insight so they may pray, give, and support more wisely.
“I am hopeful that regardless of the role you play — praying, going, or giving — this book will bless you and help give you deeper insight into the relational challenges of bringing compassionate Christ-centered healthcare … to the world.” — Rick Allen
All proceeds from Surrendered Heart go to support the ministry of MedSend, helping pay down medical education debt, fund medical training, and long-term care for Christian healthcare missionaries around the globe.
The book will be available in paperback, e-book, and Kindle formats on Amazon and other major online retailers starting January 13, 2026.
